The Moment
Life’s moments rarely expose itself in high resolution. Our eyes only lend us the truth in its grainy, imperfectly beautiful existence. We can never magnify the pixels, nor capture the minutest of pores that make the moment intriguingly complex. Defining it cannot be realized by capturing every instance that transpires, but by waiting for that decisive second that tells the story in one shot. Life offers no LCD, wherein you can go back to the second that lapsed and zoom in if everything was just the way you wanted. You can only experience it once, and it doesn’t come in options 001, 002 or 003. The moment, in its nakedness, can never be revised, redone nor replicated. It comes in surprises, within a second that can last forever and can never be deleted.
Film is not just a medium. It’s the most sincere way of living those moments again.
To photographers: While we embrace the digital, let’s not allow film to die. =]
